On life and its vagaries

with one comment

“Who is it?

Nobody, friend. Just a footfall in the night.

I walked softly, going away.”

Raymond Chandler-(No idea what the book was, but one likes the lyrical quality……)

It’s always tough to distil the individual from the social and the social from the individual. Where does one draw the line, and can it be really drawn? Where does sentiment begin and thought end?

-Reason and emotion: Strange bedfellows!

After offering my hearts blood-

In token of gratitude,

To those who have parted from me,

I turn this way.

Our paths were indistinguishable once,

Within a dread-noon that had no rise or fall.

The insufferable heat had dulled our brain,

Merging lines and obliterating differences.

Sight is lonely

And soon fragments into nothingness-

If we look through alien eyes,

On everything that’s without.

Possibly, the blur that was our way

Has now become untwined.

Possibly it’s time to discard ardor

And wound our own single way.
