On life and its vagaries

angst

There are a thousand things we forget in our lives

But some burn through us, leaving a trail of anguish.

They define our lives, in the chiseled tones of being

Whispering, ‘here is where and what you have been”

At such moments, we stall and labor with the breath-

Of the past coursing through in streams of molten lead

Pain is not merely sentiment, it’s a conspiracy of-

Circumstances, a statement on the world lying outside

And not within us, unmalleable and ever on the attack

We become mute seeing this unbridgeable division-

Extend and encompass ambits that’s beyond our ken

The out is always frightening, it’s strange and critical

Of us, its tools varied and manufactured ever anew

Is pain cathartic?  One can hardly think so, it maims-

Rather than builds, it destroys more than it can save

If sorrow teaches us any lessons it’s about its inevitability

It stands over our pleasures like a silent mourner

If we can console ourselves on anything its this: Even-

The greatest of the humorists bawls in secret, even-

The mighty is shot through with lightening bolts that-

Come through reminiscences, even the iron willed-

Sweat blood when the past brushes their thoughts

Yes there are a thousand things we forget in our lives

But some burn through us, leaving a trail of anguish.

  1. it is one thing we can all relate on…we all have these moments…they make us stronger or they break us…

  2. Yes, but let them always strengthen us and never weaken our spirit….that would be sad if it happens…

  4. Thank you Jingle, other than being caught up in work with very little time for anything else, I am fine….

    And what’s life without emotions!

If I am destined to see a single, utterly logical, unemotional, 100% rational being out there in the world, I would fall down and die at that very moment.

I won’t be able to suffer it 🙂

But the good part is, that would not ever happen.

Yet in one sense you are right, in writing about them I am sort of reliving them! Its often a relief too……
