On life and its vagaries

Apsara’s are a sort of beautiful angels (female) in the court of Inrda, the King of gods, according to the Indian mythology.  They are a sort of divine enticers, and get sent to the earth whenever some one engages in Tapas (asceticism) to purify themselves.  Indra is always afraid of being usurped by such souls if they gain power.  Some of them fall in love with the mortals too.

These lines under are about Apsara’s. Somehow I never really liked the idea of divine pleasure girls. But strangely all faiths have such concepts.

All the apsara’s I have ever heard of

Have this defect

They are inconstant

But one thing though-

When they love some one

They wholly give themselves to them

With nothing kept back

Yet they are free souls

And has this trick

By which they always wriggle out

Of any ones life

May be somehow

They are

Fulfilling their lives

By this

  2. Yeah, right, but there are a few pure souls like you around too, the gods must take consolation from that fact 🙂
