The unconscious
Here is an example of a man without a conscience.
The guy molested, raped and did away with a two year old. The court described the crime as one against human conscience and sentenced him to death.
The man appears to be unmoved by the sentence.
He is a habitual criminal and was acquitted before in such cases by lack of evidence.
The question is, is he any different from others like us. I know the question sounds weird and grossly unjustifiable. We are quite sure that we are paragons of morality. We are correct in behavior; we do all the right things. We “can’t imagine” such things.
Yet is it not true that we are besieged by urges that are nameless and fears that are faceless.
That we are walking on a tight rope.
Not all the time of course. Not even every day, every month or every year, may be not in long time in our lives. But there is something inside us restrained, bound, locked up and hidden.
Something fearful…..
It has been called the unconscious.
In ancient Indian literature it is called “Ashnaaya” that which eats up, that which can not be satiated.
It made Eve hunger after the forbidden fruit. It fashioned the world.
Good god, it is there lurking, biding its time, watchful………
Beware of it!
you are so very right… the black wolf of dark powers and the white wolf of white powers residing within all of us.. feeding on our actions.

Lovely, every sensitive soul is aware of this struggle within themselves, this unending war between the demons and gods. We need to assess its real power to overcome it.
Thank you for the nice comment.

I trust everybody, it’s the devil in me that I don’t trust. I totally agree! We all struggle to keep the devil in the closet.
